The Redesigned and Spacious 2024 Chevrolet Traverse

The Traverse has been a popular SUV since its introduction in 2009, and the updated 2024 model is expected to increase in popularity. What’s Under the Hood

The third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse will come with a new turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. The redesigned mid-size SUV has more horsepower and torque than the previous generation’s V6 engine. The new powertrain includes an eight-speed automatic transmission and shoppers can add all-wheel drive to all trim levels. The Chevrolet Traverse gas mileage has not been determined yet.

Along with the new powertrain, Chevrolet is also adding more standard driver-assist technology. All trims include Chevy Safety Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking with Front Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Lane-Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear-Park Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Reverse Automatic Braking, Intersection Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Some trim levels will have available Super Cruise for a hands-free driving experience.

New Trims, Technology, and Comfort in the Cabin

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse will be available in several trim levels, including the first-ever Traverse RS and Z71 trims. The sporty RS trim includes special badging, Jet Black leather-trimmed seats with red accents, black-out features on the grille and roof rails, trailering equipment, a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and a Bose audio system. The off-road-ready Z71 includes all-wheel drive with a twin clutch, off-road suspension, tow hooks, Terrain mode, all-terrain tires on 18-inch high-gloss Black machined wheels, special badging, and Jet Black Evotex seats with red accents.

The upgraded and redesigned Chevrolet Traverse interior includes a standard 17.7-inch touchscreen that sits next to an 11.0-inch digital driver’s display. The instrument panels have been lowered to improve visibility. All trims have at least six USB ports while wireless phone charging and a Wi-Fi hotspot are available.

The LS trim seats eight thanks to bench seats in the second and third rows. Some trims have seating for seven with second-row captain’s chairs and “SmartSlide” technology for easy access to the third row. The maximum cargo capacity is outstanding for a midsize SUV, as the 2024 Traverse has 98 cubic feet of space with the seats folded flat. For additional convenience and cargo space, the third-row bench has 60/40 split capability.
