It's hard to deny that Cadillac has been working very hard to appeal to a younger audience lately. After all, have you seen the all-new Cadillac ATS? When it debuted in Detroit in January, the engineers at Cadillac didn't sugarcoat their mission at all. In fact, they made it very clear that their ATS arrows are pointed directly at the heart of luxury sedans: the 3 series. And, it may have taken them five years to develop, but we think it was worth every minute.

And this is only the beginning of their mission to overtake the luxury market. Don Butler, GM VP for Cadillac Marketing reports, "We are working on more new Cadillacs than at any point in the brand's history...We're constantly talking about what's the best way to become this global player."¹

We think the new ATS is definitely a good start. But what's up next? So far we've heard rumblings of a new sedan that's larger than the Cadillac XTS, an SUV that's smaller than the SRX, and an all-new Escalade.

Who else will Cadillac have to beat to take the top luxury spot? Well, there's BMW of course, followed closely by Audi, and then Japanese giant, Lexus. It's likely to be a long journey to the top, but we look forward to seeing more cars like the brand-new ATS make their way into the luxury spotlight.
