We can understand that many drivers in the Brunswick area are hesitant to adopt new vehicle technology. And while we'll be the first to tell you how fantastic the Chevy Volt is, we know that many people are more comfortable opting for traditionally powered vehicles instead of plug-in electrics. Because of this exact trend, Chevrolet announced earlier this year that they would be halting production for a five weeks this spring. But, we have good news, folks - production will start back up shortly! A full week earlier than originally planned.
Why the change in plan? Well, as of March, sales numbers have steadily risen. By the end of the month, dealerships around the country sold more than 2,000 Volt Plug-ins. Which is just about where the company would like to be, and is the best monthly sales number the Volt has seen since its release last year.
Company officials haven't pinpointed the exact reasons for the sales boost, though we suspect that rising gas prices have something to do with it. Considering that the Volt provides all of the benefits of an electric vehicle (plug-in capabilities, fuel economy numbers that hover around 99 miles to the gallon, and even tax benefits), without the anxiety of needing to find a charger if you run out of electric juice. Meanwhile, Chevrolet continues to offer some of the best financing incentives to those ready to make the EV switch.
There are probably numerous other reasons for the surge in popularity of the Volt. Though we think they are best experienced in person - stop by the Dan Vaden of Brunswick showroom at 121 Altama Connector Brunswick, GA 31525 to take one for a spin. We also encourage you to explore our new Chevrolet inventory online before you stop in. We're always happy to answer any of your questions and arrange a test drive of any of the fuel-efficient models that catch your eye.
